LEGO™ Mini Figures (minifigs)

LEGO™ has long been a favourite toy for kids and adults. With such a range of kits available plus the endless options that you can make yourself with a little creativity, LEGO™ is a product that has captured the minds of people all over the world.
LEGO™ has capitalised on the major film releases and now has kits and figures for films such as Spiderman, Harry Potter and Batman plus the Star Wars series. It now produces kits for Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode 2 Attack Of The Clones, Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith, Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope, Star Wars Episode 5 Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode 6 Return Of The Jedi.
As you can see from the list of characters down the side of this page, there are many of the characters from these film represented in LEGO™ form, known as minifigs, and they are becoming quite collectable.
Some figures, such as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker have several versions depending on what episode and what kit they come with. There are also some very rare figures that only appear in one or two kits. Jango Fett, for instance, is probably the most desirable minifig and is currently selling for up to £40 on internet auctions sites such as ebay.
There are also keyrings and Star Wars figures with magnets in their legs too, quite why magnets are used is a bit strange but you may be able to stick them on your fridge.
Once you have a collection of minifigs you can recreate you favourite scenes from Alderaan, Cloud City, Coruscant, Dagobah, Dantooine, Endor, Hoth, Mos Eisley, Naboo, Tatooine or even Yoda's Hut. Or maybe you just want to trade them.
Along with minifigs from films like Star Wars, Spiderman, Harry Potter and Batman, there are also the standard kits from LEGO™. Knights Kingdom, Space and many others are popular for collecting the minifigs from as they can be swapped and combined to recreate your favourite scenes from films, history or your own life if you feel that way inclined.
The LEGO™ computer games are also popular amongst kids and big kids too. Currently the games series includes LEGO Star Wars (PC), Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, LEGO Star Wars Platinum and the forthcoming release of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. These games are available for most platfoms like XBOX, XBOX 360, PS2 (PlayStation 2), Gamecube, Nintendo DS, PSP, MAC and PC although I believe The Complete Saga won't be available on the PC/MAC which is a shame. So if you are a fan of LEGO™ minifigs then why not add a few computer/console games to your collection too.
May the force be with you.......
